Welcome everyone!

When you start working at a law firm everything that everyone is focused on are billable hours, this is, the amount of hours you work for a client and that the client actually pays for them.

Although that this shall be your main duty and you need to be laser focus on them), there are other "working-for-client" hours that are also very important, but they are not paid by anyone: "pro-bono".

Pro-Bono are those clients that the firms agree to provide free advice because they need top-tier legal advice, but they can't pay for it, so the firms, in their willingness of giving back, do the work for free.

Welcome everyone!

Income flows. That's my new obsession.

If you could take a look of all the things I want to say in my webpage, apparently I am not going to focus this blog on law, but on whatever thoughts or concerns I have on my mind at any moment (which makes some sense).

Ok, so right now, I am laser focused on my work, on becoming a better lawyer, on keep pushing on what I do best.

However, every single minute I am not working or with friends, I am fully focusing on generating more sources of income for myself.

I am very happy at my job and I am not worried of loosing it at any time soon (fingers crossed), but I feel uncomfortable knowing that my life depends on one job. That if I lose it, I will have 0 income to survive. So I'm trying...

Welcome everyone!

Some time ago a wrote a post for another blog in which I tried to set out what I believe are 20 ground rules in the relationship between the associates of a firm (including partners) and the junior associates/trainees (the “Juniors”). It is a relationship with plenty of difficulties. Of course most of the associates were previously Juniors, but they normally tend to miss various ground rules and take things for granted that they shouldn’t.

It’s key to work on a good “associate – Juniors” relationship basis. We have to bear in mind that it is the Juniors who help them to do their job better and who normally do all the “dirty work”. Yes, of course all that later comes back to the Juniors as expertise and experie...

A native of Spain, I am dually qualified to practice law in Spain and in the State of new York.


I began my legal career as an associate in the Finance and Real Estate practice groups of an international law firm. 

After my time in Spain, I attended Georgetown University Law Center and graduated from my LLM in 2015, focused on international business and economic law. 

After acting as legal counsel for an multilateral organization in its Mexico City office, I am now working on the international project finance department of Hogan Lovells.

I am also a start-up investor  and consultant always looking for new opportunities.
